About Chapman Whitted

The story so far:

The son of a craftsman specializing in home restoration and a bespoke educator, Chapman Whitted grew up in a creative, tight-knit community in the eastern suburbs of Atlanta, GA, but his heart has always belonged to the lonely mountain. He now calls Lookout Mountain home-the place that inspired his first breakout single with over 1.1 million streams. Though he may often prefer a solo hike to find some fresh perspective from a hard to reach vista, you’re just as likely to find him collaborating with a fiddle or piano player he’s been friends with for years, rehearsing for a recording, performance, or just because it’s good for the soul.

The eye for renewing an old staircase that he learned at his father’s side is the same eye Chapman brings to the human condition, where he’s drawn to the longing heart and crafts words and melody like risers, handrail, and newel post to invite the listener to find where the longing can lead.

Chapman is looking forward to touring the southeastern United States in the Summer and Fall of 2023 and to meeting fellow fans of Appalachian Folk and Indie Rock.
